coach kay yow (1942 – 2009)

today is a sad day for the NC State family. Coach Kay Yow has passed away. she was the NC State woman's basketball coach. diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987, she has been a public figure for fighting the battle ever since. she was an inspiration to many. her persistence will never be forgotten.

She epitomized what a coach and role model should be. Her influence will be felt for years to come.
